Doxofylline

Description
Clarence (Doxofylline) is a new generation xanthine derivative which has a Dioxolane group in N-7 position of its chemical structure, which is absent in Theophylline. Doxofylline selectively inhibits phosphodiesterase-4 enzyme thereby relaxes bronchial smooth muscle. Moreover Doxofylline appears to have a less affinity towards adenosine A1 & A2 receptor which is account for better safety profile of the drug. Doxofylline is reported to inhibit platelet activating factor (PAF) and generation of leukotriene production.

Indication
Doxofylline is indicated for maintenance therapy in patients suffering with Asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

Supply
Clarence 200 mg tablet: Each box contains 5x10’s tablets in Alu-Alu blister pack.
Clarence 400 mg tablet: Each box contains 5x10’s tablets in Alu-Alu blister pack.
